I Sold Shoes

I love my wife. I love being married. I love being a father of a smart and talented son.

But...

I have times when I would love to go back in time and relive some moments in my early adulthood.

For example, I was about 18, not long out of high school and waiting for my delayed enlistment in the Air Force. I was working at a Thom Mcanns store (some of you out there might remember them) selling shoes. It was a busy day and the store phone rang. The store manager was busy so I answered it. "Thom Mcanns, 306g speaking, how may I help you? A sexy, somewhat deep and sultry woman's voice on the other end of the phone asked to speak to so and so. I told her that so and so was the manager of the store down the street and gave her the number there. She then said, "So, what was your name again?" I gave it to her and she said, "You sound sexy and hot, we should get together." I, at that age, just said, "Uh, er, um, well thanks!" I'm sure I was beet red, too. She then said, "Here's my number, 555-4141, give me a call some time?" "Uh, OK, bye", I stammered completely flustered, and quickly hung up the phone.

That is a moment that I've relived in my mind often in the last 25 years. I've always wondered what I would say to her now and would I call her this time. What would have happened had I pursued it?

I sold shoes when I was 18 too!
The shoes salesmen where the BIGGEST perverts ever!

They used to angle the foor mirrors so they would reflect up a woman's skirt...purposely hold a custmers leg at a certain angle...good times good tiems!
